The wait is over, as the time is here for the 86th annual Academy Awards, which will be taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The annual event will feature several megaflicks duking it out for several Oscars. Some of the movies that will battle it out for one of the prestigious awards include the likes of 12 Years A Slave, Gravity and American Hustle.

The awards show is set to be hosted by popular television host Ellen Degeneres, as 24 golden statuettes will be given out to a slew of lucky recipients.

One of the respective honors that fans will surely be glued to their seats for is the Best Picture award, as American Hustle will face off against The Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers Club, and amongst others.

Christian Bale (American Hustle), Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Bruce Dern (Nebraska) and Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street) are all nominated for The Best Actor in a Leading Role honors, as the respective award.

The Best Actress in a Leading role category isn't short of star power either with Amy Adams (American Hustle), Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine), Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Judi Dench (Philomena), and Meryl Streep (August: Osage County) are up for an Oscar.
