National Pancake Day 2014: Where And How To Get A FREE Short Stack March 4 [PHOTO]
Pancake lovers can rejoice with their favorite food all day today at no cost if they head down to their local IHOP restaurant to celebrate National Pancake Day.
The chain restaurant is continuing their annual tradition that has been in effect since 2006, where dine-in customers can head to any location of their choosing and receive a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes.
The event, which takes place from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., is one the company does on behalf of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Though customers can enjoy their short stacks of pancakes at no additional charge, they are encouraged to make a small voluntary donation to the hospitals.
"Since beginning its National Pancake Day...IHOP has raised $13 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates," the official event website read. "In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation."
The Children's Miracle Network has advised on their website that IHOP customers leave a $5 donation, roughly the cost of the short stack of pancakes any other day. IHOP aims to raise $3 million for the respective charities this year, and Children's Miracle Network reported that 100 percent of the proceeds do indeed go to the charities.
Those participating in the event who choose to donate will receive an extra reward with their pancakes in the form of a $5 off coupon good for their next visit to the establishment.
