American Horror Story fans still don't know what the concept will be for season 4, but that hasn't stopped publications from suggesting ideas based on clues presented thus far.

Coven Finale Clue Reveals Cabaret Theme?

The only real announcements thus far from American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy have been that season 4 will take place in the year 1950 and that star Jessica Lange will use a German accent for her character. Murphy also previously said that they were either shooting in New Orleans, like they did with Coven, or Santa Fe, NM.

With these clues in mind, BuzzSugar recently formulated five ideas for what the fourth season of the horror anthology series could be. These ideas include a famous kidnapping, a circus theme, the hydrogen bomb, Lange playing a famous actress and aliens.

Of these ideas, the circus theme has already been ruled out by Murphy, who, when asked by Entertainment Weekly if they would be doing a circus theme, said that no one had guessed the concept yet.

The most feasible ideas presented are the famous kidnapping and "aliens," two events that occurred in New Mexico in 1950. The famous kidnapping involved the respected Dr. Nancy Campbell who kidnapped the nine-year-old girl of a wealthy family and held her for ransom. Season 4 could have a suburban theme, highlighting the darker underbelly hidden during the seemingly perfect 1950s.

The alien theme could feature American Horror Story tackling the UFO crash in Roswell, NM in 1950. The show tackled aliens briefly in American Horror Story: Asylum but that may not stop them from trying to tackle it head on.

American Horror Story season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific premiere date.
