'No Last-Minute Whim' & Plans In Place For Moriarty In Sherlock Season 4?

Scott spoke with DigitalSpy Thursday regarding the season 3 twist ending, which featured Moriarty delivering a video message to the citizens of the U.K. When asked if he knew the truth behind the message, Scott was tight-lipped yet hinted that more could be revealed in season 4.

"I do know the answer to that question, yes, and I'm not going to tell you!"

Sherlock Holmes To Grow More 'Human' in Season 4?

It has previously been announced via Sherlock creator Steven Moffat that Moriarty would be back in season 4. Scott also discussed one of the more interesting sequences in Sherlock history, which involved a dying Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) hallucinating Moriarty.

"It was a case of removing myself a little bit from Moriarty, because it was in Sherlock's mind palace," he explained. "So it allowed me to go to real extremes with the character, to see what he would be like were he completely unleashed."

Scott then explained that he enjoys being able to see his character through Sherlock's eyes.

"It's an insight into the mind of the hero, as much as anything, so it was good to be able to play a different note."

While Sherlock, Watson (Martin Freeman) and Moriarty will all be back, there will also be an emphasis on female characters, such as Molly (Louise Brealey) and Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs).

Sherlock season 4 is expected to premiere in 2016, based on previous comments made by Moffat.
