Lizzy Caplan said that she gets "insanely embarrassed" when her family watches her sex scenes in Masters of Sex, in a recent interview.

While talking about the challenges of playing Virginia, she revealed that he Israeli uncle puts a pillow on his face every time she gets carnal on screen. But he really respects and appreciates her work. "I respect you as an artist," he says, according to Caplan.

The actress also spoke about hos exhilirating it was to play a character she admired so much.

"She's a very flawed character. She makes decisions over the course of the first season, and hopefully the seasons to come, that are going to piss a lot of people off, and piss a lot of women off," she said. "And people are going to have very, very mixed feelings about her. I love that that exists. I'm looking forward to really upsetting people, or getting people to talk about why this is upsetting, why they're more capable of accepting certain behaviors from a man and not a woman." 

At a recent event at the PaleyFest, Caplan joked about the arcane lingerie the women had to wear on the show.

As the women members of the cast joked about going back in time and donning girdles and whatnot.

"I insist on wearing the period appropriate undergarments, as a way to get into character," Caplan joked.

Season 2 of Masters of Sex returns to Showtime on July 13.
