Scandal's season 3 blew the minds of many of its fans. Season 3 featured President Fitz's son murdered by Rowan - who was stabbed by Maya Pope - who attempted to blow up the president - who now learns that his father Big Jerry raped Mellie - who got it on with Veep Andrew in a steamy affair and is now going through "withdrawal."

Scandal's Got Personal Scandals - Columbus Short Fired For Domestic Abuse

"I'm in withdrawal," Bellamy Young, who plays Mellie, told Yahoo TV about the ending of season 3.

The first lady has been through a lot; having just tragically lost her only son to meningitis, getting busted in an affair with the vice president, and having to admit her father-in-law's rape to her shocked husband (a secret she kept hidden for years from Fitz).

Kerry Washington Due Date Is Near

"It's been a crazy year. And she's been through so much this season - last year was the pregnancy and the birth and everything, but this year was the rape and the affair and my son dying, and oh! It's been a lot," Young said.

Young was shocked by little Jerry Jr.'s (Dylan Minnette) sudden death.

"Dylan [Minnette] got a heads-up a couple hours before the table read, so he didn't have to get hit with it in front of all of us. But we were just... as a family, he brought such a beautiful truth to little Jerry, and we were so excited to finally meet the kids," Young said. "To have one snatched away in such Greek drama fashion... oh, it was awful."

Audiences tweeted that they thought Mellie was next, since she got sneezed on by Jerry Jr., but Young disagrees:

"I don't know! He did, he sneezed all over me, there was blood all over my blazer," she said.

When it comes to her affair with Veep Andrew, Young has her hopes:

"I hope that's still a question mark. Who knows..."

Well one thing is definitely not a question mark: Columbus Short exits stage left. His character was killed off by Rowan who said, as he pointed the gun, "To be young, gifted and black." Short was fired from the show due to an abusive domestic spat with his wife.

"At this time, I must confirm my exit from a show I've called home for three years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today," Short, 31, said according to The Huffington Post on April 25. "I would like to first thank Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast."
