While pre-production and casting for True Detective's second season is about to begin, it seems like the show's creator Nic Pizzolatto has something brewing on the side.

True Detective Will Have a Feminist Tone this Time Around? 

On May 14, Variety reported that Pizzolatto's written another crime thriller which is finally being green lit as it has found financing. This time around one of Pizzolatto's dark and gritty story will be adapted for the big screen. The film will be based on Pizzolatto's first novel, Galveston, which "focuses on a New Orleans hitman diagnosed with lung cancer who discovers his mobster boss has decided to have him killed."

The movie is being backed by Low Spark Films and Jean Doumanian Productions.

What We Know About The Plot And Casting Of True Detective So Far  

"'Galveston' is one of the most soulful and electrifying scripts I've read in years," Tyler Davidson of Low Spark Films said. 

The first season of the show which was a critical success starred Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey in the lead roles as a pair of detectives who return to an unsolved case about a ritualistic serial killer after around a decade.

New Actress In The Running For Lead Part In Detective Series?  

The series was created by Nic Pizzolatto and the first season was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
