One of the first photos from Pitch Perfect 2 has been released, showing the original girls as well as a new cast member.

Demi Lovato To Appear In Pitch Perfect 2?

The image that was posted on director Elizabeth Banks's Instagram page on Thursday shows the girls in blue jackets as they pose together in a group shot. Original cast members are in the photo, including Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson. Newcomer Hailee Steinfeld is in the picture as well; her previous credits include Ender's Game, 3 Days to Kill and True Grit, where she was nominated for an Academy Award.

Banks captioned the picture, "365 days till Pitch Perfect 2 is released!!"

There was a recent rumor that pop star Demi Lovato might make an appearance in the movie as well, but according to Skylar Astin, who will be reprising his role as Jesse in the sequel, he's not sure how that would work.

"There is like a rumor online about Demi Lovato-- I have no idea where that would fit in," Astin told E! News. "I would like to see though Dave Matthews because I used to go to his concerts when I was younger. I think it would be cool if he was like Jesse's older brother or something like that cool and hip or maybe like his uncle or older cousin."

The actor also gave details on why he is a huge fan of Kendrick.

"She is funny and I think there is a reason why she is very successful because she is very ambitious," he said. "Plus she is the 'Cups' girl. Why wouldn't you love her?"

Pitch Perfect 2 is expected to hit theaters on May 15, 2015.
