Days after coming in second place on Dancing With the Stars with Paralympian Amy Purdy, Derek Hough has discussed the possibility of leaving the show entirely.

Brooke Burke-Charvet Says Erin Andrews Wasn't 'The Right Choice' For DWTS Co-Host?

Hough has been Dancing With the Stars'  most successful pro dancer, winning five seasons with his various celebrity partners. He said after Tuesday's show that competing with Purdy in Season 18 was enough to bring him back, however there is a possibility he might not return for the fall.

"Honestly, before this season, I wasn't sure," Hough said. "I feel like I've kind of done it. I've done a lot on this show. When they told me about Amy, I 100 percent signed up right away. I knew that this was something that was more special than a competition dance show and I really feel like we've accomplished everything and more."

News of Hough possibly leaving Dancing With the Stars comes among a similar situation with Maks Chmerkovskiy, who won this season with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis.

"This is exhausting," he admitted to Entertainment Tonight. "It has nothing to do with money."

Chmerkovskiy did not compete in Season 16 or 17 of the dance competition show. Season 18 was the first time the dancer had taken home the Mirrorball Trophy. He told host Tom Bergeron after winning that it meant "so much" to him, to win.

Dancing With the Stars Season 19 premieres in fall 2014 on ABC, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific premiere date. It will be returning to the Mondays at 8 p.m. timeslot.
