Survivor is going back to Nicaragua after four straight seasons in the Philippines, but the show's crew intends on making some changes to enhance the season as a whole.

Survivor Season 29 Bringing Back 'Redemption Island,' & 'Blood vs. Water' Twists

Survivor: San Juan del Sur is the 29th season of the long-running reality show, and the first season to air in Nicaragua since Season 22, Survivor: Redemption Island. Both Redemption Island and Survivor: Nicaragua were noted for their lack of water challenges, a staple of most Survivor seasons.

Host Jeff Probst recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that the upcoming season would essentially fix the water situation.

"The one thing I kept asking our scouting crew for was updates on how the water situation was looking, and between our art department and our challenge department, they've got it under control. We're going to have a lot more water challenges and be in the water more -and really that's the only concern we had about Nicaragua, is that it was a little dry last time," Probst revealed.

This season of Survivor will be the return of the Blood vs. Water twist, which features loved ones competing against each other. However, unlike Survivor: Blood vs. Water, this season will feature exclusively new players.

Survivor: San Juan del Sur premieres this fall on CBS. While the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date, it will be returning to its regular Wednesdays at 8 p.m. timeslot.
