Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy have been fighting off rumors that they've been dating since they first started competing as a couple on Dancing With the Stars, but new reports have suggested that they've gotten close with each other.

Davis and Chmerkovskiy won this spring's season of Dancing With the Stars after achieving a series of perfect scores from the judges throughout the season. As part of their celebration, the dancers went out for some dinner and dancing Thursday night and were spotted looking very close.

"Maks and Meryl were super touchy feely," a source told Us Weekly. "Before dinner they were in a corner talking really close. The source added that Chmerkovskiy kept kissing her on her forehead kept kissing her on the forehead. "He had his arm around her waist and shoulders a ton."

Despite their closeness, a source close to Chmerkovskiy has essentially denied any possible romance between him and Davis.

"They had a great time [in NYC] but honestly they aren't dating yet," the source revealed to Us Weekly. "Maks is that affectionate with all women. He always acts like that, it's how he is, very touchy feely. He genuinely adores her but it is not dating yet."

Chmerkovskiy had previously been dating supermodel Kate Upton.

Dancing With the Stars Season 19 premieres in the fall on ABC, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date. It is known, however, that it will be returning to its regular Mondays at 8 p.m. timeslot.
