While it's great news that Rachel Bilson is expecting, we couldn't help but think how show runners will have this fit into the story line for the new season of Hart of Dixie.

Rachel Bilson Wants to 'Smack Zoe All The Time'?

After all, she's the second star of the show to get pregnant after Jaime King's (who plays Lemon Breeland) baby bump put her on maternity leave for much of last season. The same most likely will not be true for Bilson considering she's the key and central character of the hit CW series.

It could actually be a good look for Bilson's character, Zoe Hart, to be pregnant in the show.

Zoe Vows To Fight For Wade?

Fans were left with a cliff hanger when her on-again-off-again boyfriend Zade decided to stay in Bluebell rather than move to Atlanta to expand his Rammer Jammer bar business. So "Zade" fans might be extremely happy if the fourth season picks up with Hart carrying his child.

On the other hand, Hart's ex-boyfriend Joel also showed up. While he convinced her to proclaim her love for Wade -- if Wade wasn't responsive the way Zoe had hoped -- she might have ran back to Joel and even had a one night stand.

Either way, Bilson is said to be ecstatic now that she is expecting.

Her co-star, King, told Us Weekly magazine May 22, "I was freaking out! I knew she wanted a baby, she wanted it so badly. She's going o be in such good hands-she's in a really good space. I'm really thrilled for her."

She added that her being pregnant first helped Bilson feel a little more at ease. "I think because I was the first one pregnant on the series she got to see a lot of what that was like. Her best friend has a kid and she has a lot of friends with children, so I'm just there to support her however I can and honor and respect her processes," she said.

King also revealed that she filmed all the way up until the day before she gave birth to her son, James.

Bilson and her boyfriend Hayden Christensen's child will arrive later this year.
