He pulled out all the stops to impress his future mother-in-law with an all-expenses paid trip to his Lake Como estate, but George Clooney is reportedly not impressive enough for Baria Alamuddin--who thinks her daughter, Amal, could do better.

According to The Daily Mail, since Baria returned to London after her visit to Italy two weeks ago, she has been telling everyone how she doesn't approve of Amal's choice to marry the 53-year-old American actor because he doesn't share the family's strict faith.

"You would think Amal has hit the jackpot with George Clooney, but Baria is not happy," a family friend told the publication July 7. "She thinks Amal can do better. She has been telling half of Beirut, in fact anyone that will listen, there are five hundred thousand Druze. Are none of them good enough for her?"

Amal, 37, was born into a prominent Druze family, and the sect is a medieval offshoot of traditional Islam which forbids those who practice it from marrying outsiders, with strict penalties for those who do.

Not only are those who intermarry with another faith excommunicated, several women have reportedly been killed for marrying men outside of the faith.

Amal and Clooney are expected to be marrying on September 12 at the actor's Lake Como estate, and if the lawyer goes through with the ceremony, she will be considered as taking on the traditions of her husband and leaving the community, and if the couple were to have children after their wedding, Amal could not pass down her faith to them.

Contrary to Baria's upset over Amal's choice of husband, Clooney's parents have praised his decision to marry the beautiful attorney, and have admitted how much they love her.

"You can say I'm extremely happy," Clooney's mother, Nina, previously said. "Amal's a lovely girl. I like her very much."
