On July 8, Ronaldo wrote "Avó, estás sempre no meu coração. Descanse em paz, beijos de todos os netos." According to Goal.com, that translates into "Grandmother, you will always be in my heart. Rest in peace. Kisses from all your grandchildren."

He attached the personal sentiment with a photo of himself, his grandmother Filomena Aveira, and his son Cristiano Ronaldo, Jr. Ronaldo's grandmother reportedly died soon after Portugal was eliminated from the tournament in Brazil.

Ronaldo has been on vacation since his team Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup in June. Ronaldo was just seen reportedly vacationing on the Greek island of Mykonos before joining his girlfriend Irina Shayk on another trip. On July 4, Ronaldo was spotted leaving the Greek island with friends donning an expensive MCM backpack.

Ronaldo was then spotted with Shayk in a cozy Instagram photo that the supermodel posted with their faces very close together on a beach.

Shayk and Ronaldo have been dating since 2010 after meeting through their modeling gigs with Armani Exchange. "I don't care about people's opinions, and neither does Cristiano," Shayk said to Maxim recently, which she covers topless. "Some people like you; some people hate you. You have to be strong."
