Rosie O'Donnell is officially coming back to The View next season.

EXCLUSIVE: The Christmas Pearl Comes To Life With Help Of Whoopi Goldberg

The show tweeted out the news on Thursday morning writing, "It's official! ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as a co-host of The View w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18."

O'Donnell, who was a co-host on the ABC show from 2006 to 2007, famously had a heated argument with fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck about U.S. conflict in Iraq.

Hasselbeck, now a host on Fox & Friends, had a lot to say about O'Donnell returning to the show before it was even confirmed.

"Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there," she said.

Hasselbeck also said that she isn't surprised by O'Donnell's return and feels it was planned for a long time. The 37-year-old explained that O'Donnell produced this year's reunion special for Barbara Walters' farewell on May 16.

"Would you think that the woman who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara's goodbye show?" she said. "Here's the shocker: It was actually her hello show."

Current co-hosts, Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd, both announced last week that they would not be returning to the show next season. It's currently unknown who else will join the cast.
