"Hot mug shot" guy Jeremy Meeks was reportedly killed by his wife, according to a website. But, the story was just a hoax.

The Meeks hoax story was posted on Huzlers.com. The site claimed that he was released from jail just before midnight on Tuesday, July 15. The website continued to claim, that right after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, "Stockton Police found him laying in the road in the area of Dayton and West in Central Stockton. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he died from his wounds shortly after arriving."

Meeks reportedly died after getting into an altercation with his wife Lashanda. The fake report continued to say that Meeks' wife was also be treated for injuries and when released from the hospital would be booked for murder charges.

The entire story, according to The Epoch Times, is fake. E! Online showed Meeks last week in court. Meeks is facing one charge, felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted on the charge, Meeks faces a prison term of up to 10 years in jail and a fine of $250,000.

Meeks' fame rose in June when his mug-shot went viral on the Internet and garnered national attention for his good looks. Meeks was originally arrested when Stockton police executed Operation Ceasefire, which was an attempt to reduce the recent boost in robberies and shootings in Weston Ranch, which is a small city in Northern California.
