One of the houseguests in the Big Brother 16 house was informed of an unfortunate passing of one of their relatives, sending the house into a state of mourning.

Brittany Becomes Target For Eviction; Cody Goes Back On Word

Frankie was informed Wednesday night that his 90-year-old grandfather Frank Grande had succumbed to cancer. Frankie received a letter from his family from the Diary Room on Wednesday, where they explained that his grandfather had died but had wanted Frankie to stay in the house to compete.

The other houseguests were devastated by the news as they came together to comfort Frankie. Zach, in particular, took the news very hard as he sat alone in a room and cried when it really sunk in.

Late Wednesday night, Frankie was left alone in the HOH room to address the live feed cameras directly. For about half an hour, he spoke about his grandfather being a great man who he look up to, telling various personal anecdotes.

In his eulogy to his grandfather, Frankie admitted that it would have been devastating to learn the news after he got out of the house. He said that if he continues to win money through Team America then he will help build schools in Africa in his grandfather's name.

While Frankie was mourning, much of the game talk stopped as it has been a foregone conclusion since Monday that Brittany will be the one evicted on Thursday. After this, it will be an intense battle for Head of Household as the outsiders (Donny, Jocasta) try to take control of the game away from the dominant Detonators alliance.

The next episode of Big Brother 16 airs Thursday at 9/8c on CBS, featuring the Eviction Ceremony and the next Head of Household competition.
