Hannibal left four characters in a bloody mess following the season 2 finale, but someone's death may not mean the end of their role on the NBC series.

Bryan Fuller served up some grave news at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, but actress Caroline Dhavernas (Alana Bloom) pointed out a lighter side to the series' creator's announcement.

"Someone in Hannibal's house is dying," Fuller told IGN, much to the dismay of fans who hoped that Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), Alana Bloom, and Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl) would some how all survive Hannibal's (Mads Mikkelsen) latest attack.

However, a character's death does not necessarily preclude their return to the series.

"You will see Alana again. What shape she will be in, that remains a mystery even to me," Dhavernas teased. "But on Hannibal when you're dead, sometime you'll be even more present than when you're alive. So you never really know."

While this news is definitely reassuring for Alana's fans, it casts a dark shadow over Fishburne's recent announcement that Jack will have a season 3 role. Since Will Graham is the only confirmed survivor, any of Dr. Lecter's three other victims may only return in some form of dream sequence.
