After this week's episode of MasterChef, we are down to 11 contestants, as Christine Silverstein was sent home due to her truffle dish being considered not up to snuff.

Gordon Ramsay's Wife To Appear On MasterChef

We now head forward to the next set of challenges, and, on Tuesday, Carter Matt reported on what we might expect to see in the next battle.

The preview for the upcoming episode was fairly limited in terms of what it revealed, but it is known that the chefs will be partaking in a mystery box challenge. In said challenge, one of the boxes will contain more ordinary, run-of-the-mill ingredients, while the other will have fancier items. That's pretty much the most basic challenge one can provide for a cooking competition, but one can't knock it out of the park every week on that front.

Star Wars Twist Including In MasterChef

Beyond that, the elimination challenge seems to involve fire in some capacity. Granted, cooking often involves fire, but this time it is a more significant amount of fire. At the end of the day, MasterChef will be down to 10 chefs. Some of the chefs on the show, the ones that tend to get more screen time, seem likely to go on, but you never know.

MasterChef, which features Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianach as judges, airs Monday nights on FOX. This year, the show shook things up a bit by only starting with 30 well-vetted chefs, which allowed them to get down to brass tacks more quickly. Still, from 30 the show is already down to 10 en route to their being one victor.
