Penny Dreadful maintained a strong cast during it's first season on Showtime with six diverse leading men and two compelling leading ladies. With production for Season 2 beginning in September, actor Reeve Carney (Dorian Gray) let it slip that some new and exciting characters will be coming to the Victorian drama.

Dorian certainly made his way around the series during the program's first season, getting intimate with at three of the seven other leads. As for future love interests? Now that Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) has broken his heart, Dorian will be looking elsewhere for "a rare connection."

"I believe they're bringing new blood," Carney told Too Fab at Comic Con over the weekend (featured below). "I know that Dorian has a new love interest in the second and potentially a few."

One of the most talked about moments of the show's debut season was Dorian's kiss with Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), but asked whether his new love interest will be male or female, Carney admitted ignorance. "I don't know," he claimed, "But maybe both, I don't know."

On this series, the actor assured audiences that anyone is fair game. "I knew that something like that would happen at some point," he said of the Ethan-Dorian kiss, noting that Hartnett is a high standard for make-out sessions on the show.

"It's probably all downhill for me," he joked.
