Longmire's third season, and the series as a whole frankly, come to a head this Monday with the season finale.

There has been no talk of a fourth season yet, so it is possible that this episode, entitled "Ashes to Ashes," which does have a note of finality, ends the show. On Sunday, Carter Matt reported on some things to expect from the possible end of Longmire.

There are four primary stories going on at the moment, and all of them should see some degree of resolution in the season finale. First, there is the quest to stop the rogue Branch, who has been wreaking havoc in recent weeks. Then, there is the legal situation regarding Henry, as played by Lou Diamond Phillips. There's Katee Sackhoff Vic's marriage, which is seemingly on its last legs. Lastly, and most notably, there is the mystery surrounding the murder of Walt's wife. This particular storyline seems very likely to reach some sort of conclusion in "Ashes to Ashes." It has been an ongoing arc and an overarching mystery, but it seems it may be coming to a conclusion.

Will Fans Find Out Who Killed Walt's Wife In Longmire's Season Finale?

Given that Longmire may be ending, it would behoove the show to give Walt, and fans, closure on this particular story. They can always begin a new series of stories if given the opportunity. There is also talk of there being some sort of twist in this episode, perhaps something that will lead the charge into a potential Season 4. Longmire airs Mondays at 10:00 p.m. on A&E.
