'Teen Mom 2' News: Critics Accuse MTV's Jenelle Evans Of Trying To 'Deflect' By Accusing PETA Of Animal Cruelty, Star Apologizes For Mistreating Dogs [VIDEO]
Recently Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans was under fire for the treatment of her dogs of this past week's episode of the MTV series. Not only is the 23-year-old reality star now trying to set things right, she's making sure to be very public about it.
"Jax and Mugen having a fun afternoon in the Dog Park," tweeted Evans on Friday, referring to the dogs she was accused of abusing while pregnant and alone during boyfriend Nathan Griffith's time in jail.
The accompanying photo with the message includes her and Griffith's dogs, roaming the dog park with Griffith and his young daughter. "Owning up to how I treated the dogs if you missed it," added the mother of two later that evening. Evans followed the statement up with a Daily Mail article regarding PETA. "Documents show @peta KILLED NEARLY 2,000 SHELTER ANIMALS IN 2013," she tweeted.
Jenelle Evans Reluctantly Returns To School
While Evans could have been trying to atone for her mistakes by raising awareness, most critics responded to her post negatively. "Trying to deflect as usual," claimed @deflatethathead. Many others believed that Evans should account for her own behavior instead of trying to change the subject or justify the way she treated her dogs.
Evans maintains that while she is not proud of how she acted towards the animals while Griffith was in jail, they were never in any danger while in her care.
Teen Mom 2 continues on MTV with new episodes Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
