While Marvel has yet to set a release date for the next Thor movie, it is one of their priorities after the success of the first two. With another intergalactic gang making waves at the studio, Thor 3 could be the largest of the movie yet.

Will Thanos Appear In The Next 'Thor' Movie & Start The Story For 'Avengers 3?'

As of right now, the plot that has been most discussed has been the Ragnarok plot line. In the comics, the Ragnarok story deals with Tony Stark making a cloned version of Thor after the God of Thunder goes missing (something that could happen after Age of Ultron), which is called Ragnarok. The two end up meeting in what happens to be a battle that includes both Loki and Thor dying.

Star Chris Hemsworth has already said he was enticed by the prospects of doing that storyline in an interview. Hemsworth told ScreenRant that "I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in," Hemsworth said.

'Thor 3' Rumors: Will 'Avengers 2' Have A Tie-In For The Movie?

"Where it's sort of the end of all things and there's obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go."

The other name that has been floating around is the inclusion of Thanos. The Mad Titan has now appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy and many think he could work his way into the plot of Thor 3. Loki is now on the throne posing as Odin and has both the Infinity Gauntlet and Tesseract, which Thanos wants. Loki seems to still be working with him and could give the villain what he needs in the next movie.

Right now, Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost are working on the script with no one attached to direct yet. Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is in post production with Terminator: Genysis, but it is uncertain if he will come back to Marvel.
