The latest show to join the ranks of Emmy Award winning Comedy Series is none other than ABC's Modern Family-the fifth consecutive time the sitcom has won the award.

The comedy series won the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series at the August 25, 2014 ceremony, beating out its competition, which included great programs such as CBS' The Big Bang Theory, FX's Louie, Netflix's Orange is the New Black, HBO's Silicon Valley, HBO's Veep.

Modern Family has dominated the Outstanding Comedy Series Awards category since its premiere in 2009, winning the prize of TV's best comedy series every year since 2010. It has also been showered with several other Emmy awards, including prizes for Writing, Sound Mixing, Casting, Picture Editing, Actor Eric Stonestreet (Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy 2010 & 2012), Actress Julie Bowen (Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy 2011 & 2012), and Actor Ty Burrell (Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy 2011).

While The Big Bang Theory has lost out to the show every year, the newer entries into the competition had some chance at potentially beating the show-with Orange is the New Black and Silicon Valley making Emmy debuts this year.

Congrats to the cast and crew of Modern Family on their fifth consecutive win!
