Sharon Osbourne surprised NBC and her fans when she tweeted that she was no longer sit on the judging panel for "America's Got Talent."

In a tweet to her co-judge Howard Stern, Osbourne sent the following message without explanation:

"My darling @HowardStern, money is not the reason I'm not returning to @nbcagt, it's because..."

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt revealed that her message was unexpected and her exit was not confirmed in a meeting with the Television Critics Association, according to The Associated Press.

"This is coming out of context and sort of spontaneously, and we don't even know what's going on," Greenblatt said. "And it's probably much ado about nothing.

Osbourne's tweet was a response to a tweet sent Monday from @sternshow:

"#AGT update: @HowardStern isn't sure if he'll do another season and says Sharon Osbourne may not come back unless she gets more money #H100."

Howard Stern sits on the judging panel of "America's Got Talent" which is now airing its seventh season on television. Stern joined Osbourne and Howie Mandel after he replaced the show's former judge,,iers Morgan who is now a CNN talk show host.

Osbourne, 59, is the wife of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and co-host of "The Talk." She has a multi-year contract with the show, an anonymous source told The Associated Press.

When Don Buchwald, Stern's agent, was asked if Stern would return to the show for another season, he replied: "we do not respond to inquiries of this sort.
