Mad Men doesn't come back to television until 2015, but AMC is already fixing to make a killing on the series finale.

On Friday Broadcasting and Cable reported that the network is offering 30-second ad spaces for the hit program's series finale. The price tag? Over $1 million.

So what exactly is the grand plan for AMC? The network could have put the space up for sale along with the remainder of the season earlier this year, but it elected to sell the episode separately. As a result, AMC didn't have to go to the advertisers. The advertisers instead went to the network, requesting be informed when the finale went on sale. AMC put the ad space on sale this week and it's mighty price tag is sure to draw in some big players.

"This is a 100 percent premium package," explained Schott Collins, who is the executive vice president for AMC's ad sales. "Advertisers like to buy what they want and they don't always like to be beholden to buy a bunch of other stuff in order to get what they really want."

AMC already made quite a but of money during up-fronts when it sold ad space for the remainder of its programming, and so the highly anticipated finale is likely to sell fast, even with the high price.

Mad Men returns to AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season in early 2015.
