Even though his partner Black Widow is hopefully headed towards a solo film, it seems like Jeremy Renner isn't that crazy about Hawkeye getting his own movie, but he is excited about possibly joining another franchise within the Marvel universe.

Does 'Captain America 3' Have A Tie To Ultron In 'Avengers 2?'

Speaking with MTV on Tuesday for his new film, Kill The Messenger, Renner talked about Hawkeye getting a solo film and why he doesn't feel like he is a character that should have one.

"I'm happy to be the ensemble. I'm not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he's a utility guy that can bounce around into other people's universes a little bit, especially like 'Cap 3,'" Renner said.

'Captain America 3' Drop Hints At Massive Marvel Cameo In Next Movie

While he has already teased an appearance, the actor would most likely join the group of Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon and Winter Soldier as well as the new Avengers team being teased.

Renner seems to believe that Hawkeye is a supporting character, which is likely the actor not wanting to be set up for a larger scene. It seems like Renner is more interested in doing roles like his most recent in Kill The Messenger, and Hawkeye is a good role that can pay the bills.

The actor also has other franchises that he is apart of (Mission: Impossible and Bourne) so he may want to be sharing time even if Marvel is the largest. He is a lead in the Bourne franchise and has about the same role in Mission: Impossible.

Hawkeye will next be seen in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015.
