While many of the former Power Rangers actors have been teasing a return in the form of a cameo for the rebooted movie coming out in 2016. One of the stars now has revealed that he is talking with the studio about a possible cameo in the movie.

Key Member Of 'Power Rangers' Crew Leaving For Another Project

Speaking with Comic Book on Wednesday, Jason David Frank, who played the green Ranger during Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, talked about the reboot movie and teased his involvement in it.

"I probably will be involved. They talked to me about it. I don't know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie," Frank said.

The Cast For The 'Power Rangers' Could Be A Bunch Of Unknowns

While Frank is the first name to confirm some sort of involvement, it is a sign that the script is getting finished and there could be a movement towards casting and figuring out how much they want to mine from the original series. It seems like the studio wants to bring back some of the old characters to bring back the nostalgia, but also introduce a new team of Rangers.

With Roberto Orci leaving to work fully on Star Trek 3, it seems like the main people still involved is Ashley Miller and Zack Stenz, who have been working on the script for the last few months. But it would have to seem likely that Lionsgate, who is distributing the film, would be looking to get some idea of who they want to cast by the end of the year.

Power Rangers is set to open on July 27, 2016.
