The strained relationship between Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Regina (Lana Parrilla) will continue through the fourth season of Once Upon a Time, with an episode that features the two of them finally dealing with who Emma brought back from the past.

After Emma saved Marian's (Christie Laing) life by transporting her back to the present, she inadvertently returned her to Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), with whom Regina was developing a relationship. The conflict between Emma and Regina won't culminate in a big fight though they will eventually deal with it.

"There's an episode where they definitely start to talk about it. I don't know if 'talking' is really what's happening, but they start dealing with how complicated the situation is, basically," Morrison explained to TVLine in a recent interview. "They definitely start addressing the fact that Regina's frustrated and feels betrayed, and Emma's continuing to hold her stance that she's not going to apologize for saving a life but she's also trying to figure out how she could help in the situation. So there is a whole episode where they really start to... I don't know quite how to articulate it. Because it's not like they 'duke it out,' and it's not like they talk it out, but they start dealing with it."

Asked if this meant that Emma and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) would be taking things slower in their blossoming relationship, Morrison said, "Yeah, I think so. There's a lot to figure out." She noted that they are fighting all of these creatures and monsters so it's complicated to face issues of dating in the middle of everything.

Once Upon a Time Season 4 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
