The upcoming third episode of the fourth season of ABC's Once Upon a Time, titled Rocky Road, will be a pretty eventful one relatively speaking, in addition to a flashback to Arendelle of the past.

Snow Queen 'Has Her Sights' On Emma As Elsa & Snow Find 'Solace'

ABC has released a detailed plot synopsis for the third episode of the season, scheduled for Oct. 12, features the introduction of the Snow Queen (guest star Elizabeth Mitchell), who is framing Elsa (Georgina Haig) for a dastardly deed.

"When an icy spell is cast on Marian [Christie Laing], which will ultimately freeze her heart and kill her, the Storybrooke residents place the blame on Elsa," the synopsis reads. "But unbeknownst to anyone, a mysterious woman who runs the town's ice cream parlor has the same powers as Elsa and is trying to frame her."

Emma & Regina Start 'Dealing With' Their Conflict Concerning Marian

Though the owner of the Any Given Sundae ice cream shoppe is not named, it is likely, based on the information that she has similar powers to Elsa, that this is the Snow Queen. This is all but confirmed by the trailer for the episode, featured below, with the Snow Queen crafting some ice cream using her powers.

Meanwhile, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the gang will be keeping very busy. Among the plot points set to occur in the episode are Emma and David (Josh Dallas) discovering Will Scarlet (Michael Socha) in Robin Hood's (Sean Maguire) tent and Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) trying to determine the fairy tale book's author.

Additionally, there will be a flashback to Arendelle of the past, in which Elsa and Kristoff (Scott Michael Foster) "set off to stop Hans from attempting to take control of the kingdom."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
