NCIS: Los Angeles will momentarily loose their LAPD liaison in season 6.

Deeks' Past Comes Back To Haunt Him On 'NCIS: LA', Max Gentry Returns

Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will leave the Office of Special Projects later this year, and Olsen hinted that the sudden move might have something to do with Kensi (Daniela Ruah).

"We don't know why he's sent back to LAPD, we don't know what the fallout is, but my guess is that as we continue with the fever pitch that is Kensi and Deeks that that probably plays a pretty large role in it," Olsen told TV Guide.

Deeks went back to LAPD once before for a temporary mission, but it sounds like the move has been in the works for some time. Hopefully it will serve as a steppingstone to Deeks' inevitable promotion to full-time agent, a title change he turned down in the past.

"I'm sure at some point in the future he'll have that conversation with Hetty but I think there's still room to play before we make that jump. " Olsen told Elodie Peyrano last year. "I think there's a lot of things that could go wrong before we get to that place. I think there's going to be repercussions for a lot of the things that Deeks ends up doing that's going to keep him from that for a while. I think at some point he'll probably go back to LAPD."
