While he has taken over the role of Spider-Man in animated form, could Donald Glover move to the live action form and play the web-slinger after Andrew Garfield vacates the role?

Sony seems to want to do a soft reboot of Spider-Man with the franchise getting rid of Garfield during the Sinister Six and putting in a new actor in the role. While it would be easy to just insert a new Peter Parker into the role, could Miles Morales make his debut in that movie with Glover in the role?

Glover voices Morales on the Ultimate Spider-Man television series and has been desired by fans of the character to play the role for awhile. With Community entering its last season, Glover will be available to do some new movie work outside of his singing career and could be available to do the role.

He has the charisma and personality to fit the Spider-Man role and would be able to still keep the humor and fun that Garfield had with the role of Peter Parker. The only issue would be inserting Morales into the story without an origin as it would be easier to re-cast someone as Parker and move forward with the previously established origin story.

Sony is still unsure if they want to move forward with the soft reboot, but Glover is an actor that they could have rather easily, due to not a heavy workload, and would be just as good in the role as their current actor is.
