Much of the cast of the ABC cult classic TV show Twin Peaks has been tweeting and commenting on the possibility of returning for the 2016 revival, but one very notable actor from the series left an ambiguous message for fans.

Which Cast Members Are Returning for the Twin Peaks Revival?

Ray Wise, who played the troubled Leland Palmer on Twin Peaks, tweeted a message to his followers on Tuesday in response to the news that the show was returning in 2016.

"Happy to be between two worlds," Wise tweeted, with the hashtag "TwinPeaks."

Twin Peaks Revival Is Set 25 Years Later, So Will Cooper & Audrey Be Wielding Cell Phones?

 Spoilers for series ahead:

Leland spent much of Twin Peaks grieving over the death of his daughter Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) before it was revealed that he was the one who killed her when inhabited by the spirit of Killer BOB (Frank Silva).

Though Leland died about halfway through the second season, he reappeared in the finale in the Black Lodge, the dreamlike extradimensional place that Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) entered, chasing after his girlfriend Annie (Heather Graham). As the Log Lady (Catherine E. Coulson) noted, her late husband used a substance to create a portal between the two worlds, which is what Wise is referencing in his tweet.

It is unclear if Wise's tweet is suggesting that he will return for the 2016 revival on Showtime. He is one of the only main actors whose character "died" on the show, so bringing him back would prove to be difficult, unless there are scenes with him in the Black Lodge in the revival series.

Twin Peaks returns in 2016 on Showtime with nine new episodes, written and directed by Mark Frost and David Lynch, and directed by Lynch.
