Reports continue to claim that Donnie Wahlberg's family has problems with his new wife Jenny McCarthy, but the New Kids on the Block singer and Blue Bloods star is fighting back against the rumors.

In fact, he told the New York Daily News Oct. 18, that the relationship, specifically between McCarthy and his mother, Alma, is actually a fantastic one and the two adore one another.

"I've always been a very private person, so when I started dating Jenny, I had to make the adjustment, and my mother said, 'Relax and have fun,'" he said. "My mother loves Jenny."

In fact, he added, the two were getting along so well that they have been collaborating on a book together which will be part biography and part cookbook.

Wahlberg's comments come just one week after reports surfaced which claimed that none of Wahlberg's family members-specifically his brother, Mark-liked or trusted McCarthy.

"A lot of the Wahlbergs are suspicious of Jenny," sources reportedly said. "She's made a career out of being brassy and talkative and over-sharing details about her personal life. It rubs them the wrong way and they don't see her as one of them."

Rumors that Mark and his wife, Rhea Durham, were feuding with Donnie about his decision to marry McCarthy first surfaced when it was revealed that they wouldn't be attending the wedding.

TMZ reported at the time that Durham wasn't getting along with McCarthy very well, and did not like a recent interview she had given on Howard Stern's radio show, where she talked about Mark.

Donnie however, trashed rumors of a feud with his brother after the wedding, telling the Boston Globe that other members of the family had also been missing from the nuptials, and it wasn't that uncommon for the famous siblings to miss out on each other's big days.

"There were actually four Wahlbergs who couldn't make it, but Mark was the only one who got mentioned," he said at the time. "Mark and I are great. We're having a ball with Wahlburgers, and not just the show. We have 60 locations [of the restaurant] under agreement. We're awesome, never been closer. And small footnote: I didn't make it to Mark's wedding."
