Something 'Surprising' Happens With Carter On 'Covert Affairs'

On Monday, TV Guide posted a behind-the-scenes look at the midseason premiere where the main actress Piper Perabo revealed that they were filming the eleventh episode of the season. She mentioned that her character, Annie, is following a Ukranian diplomat who is trying to buy weapons from a Syrian arms dealer in Turkey.

The clip then shows a moment where Annie walks up to a car with gun in her hand, but has to get out of the way when the man in the driver's seat takes a shot at her.

Perabo revealed that they had filmed in Istanbul before, but there was a reason for coming back.

"The episode looked so good and so beautiful that the writers have been looking for a new way to get the story to go here again," she said.

Colin Hoult, director of photography, also talked about what the upcoming episode will be like as the characters find themselves in different kinds of situations.

"It gives our episode a feeling of the exotic," Hoult said. "It's totally an exciting place and something that's totally different than anything that North Americans can only see, so it seems like a really exciting place for our characters to have their adventure."

Covert Affairs is set to return on Thursday, November 6 at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
