Although he was shattering world records in the 100 and 200 meter dashes back in "08" and "09," apparently Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt also shatters hearts. On a quest to recapture the dominance that he had showcased in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Bolt broke off his relationship with long-time squeeze Lubica Slovak in May.

A source close to Bolt said the following regarding the star runner's heart breaking decision:

"He will have plenty of time for relationships. At the moment he's concentrating on his running career and doesn't want anything to distract from that," revealed the source to The Sun.

According to Daily Mail, the 25 year-old said sayonara to Slovak right around the time he was openly being criticized by his fellow countrymen for dating a white woman.

The breakup came as a shock as the former duo was said to be "very comfortable together" and "very much in love" to those who knew them.   They also preferred to have low-key dinners with just each other over high-profile outings.

Slovak, 28, had previously been an immigrant of Canada from the age of 14 and had studied fashion in Toronto.  She made the trek to Jamaica in 2011 after loving it, and was set up with Bolt through mutual friend and reggae singer Tami Chynn.

Ricky Simms, Bolt's agent refused to speak on behalf of the sprinter's love life saying "We don't comment on athletes' private lives."

After a recent loss to Jamaican teammate and rival sprinter Yohan Blake in the Jamaican trials, the former gold medalist indeed has his work cut out for him.

Bolt is set to kick off day 8's festivities in the 100 meter on Saturday, August 4th at 5 a.m. ET.
