Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah dropped by CBS2 News This Morning to dish on their crime-fighting personas, and the pair discussed how important it is for their on screen relationship to be informed by their chemistry off screen.

"You know what? If that chemistry wasn't real it would be very hard to not only do for that long, but when people get cast for stuff, a lot of time you do chemistry reads - I don't think we did for this show - but a lot of times you do because you need to know that that's kind of there naturally or otherwise it won't work," Ruah explained.

Known for their witty banter and lighthearted humor in intense situations, Deeks and Kensi have grown closer over the years, turning their partnership into romance. While Ruah is married to Olsen's real-life brother, the NCIS: LA agent and the LAPD detective's relationship arc made up a major portion of season 5 and will continue through season 6.

There are a lot of fun moments between them early in the season as they try to sort out their relationship," explained series creator Shane Brennan, according to TV Guide Magazine (via Spoiler TV). "It isn't as black-and-white as people think, and we try to keep it as a real workplace romance, especially one with guns and explosions and people trying to kill you."
