Sheryl Lee is interested in returning for the 2016 revival of Twin Peaks, but what kind of capacity would she be in?

The Log Lady, The Giant & Man From Another Place Returning for 2016 Revival?

***SPOILERS FOR TWIN PEAKS AHEAD***

She played the most talked about character on television in 1990: Laura Palmer. The dead homecoming queen, who the world was introduced to "wrapped in plastic" captivated the nation at the time, and for many Twin Peaks fans old and new, she still remains the most compelling character on the series.

Lee recently spoke with Vulture amid the news of Twin Peaks being revived in 2016 on Showtime.

Will Cooper & Audrey Be Wielding Cell Phones in 2016?

"I remember clear as day the scene of being on the beach wrapped in plastic, sometimes as if it was yesterday, because it was also my first experience on a set," Lee said. "Because I was playing a corpse, I got to witness all these different departments at work and lay there quietly and soak it all up ... And the cast, we don't get to see each other enough, but I feel so blessed to have worked with those people, and I hope to get to again."

Though Laura Palmer is dead and has been for 25 years, Lee later appeared in the series as Laura's doppelgänger in Cooper's (Kyle MacLachlan) cryptic dream. She was the one to tell Cooper that she would see him again in 25 years, which obviously translates to the show itself returning after 25 years.

It is possible that Laura's doppelgänger could appear again in the Black Lodge during the 2016 revival. Lee also appeared as Laura's innocent cousin Maddy on the series, though she would eventually succumb to the same fate as Laura. Could Lee appear as yet another character in the revival series? Considering the eccentric David Lynch is involved it certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Twin Peaks returns to television in 2016 on Showtime, though the network has not announced a specific premiere date yet.
