With the news that DC has a slate of movies on the way up to the year 2019, they also revealed that Ezra Miller would be taking over the role of the Flash for a solo movie. This is awkward as another actor is currently playing the role on the new CW series, and one other TV superhero has something to say about it.

'Wonder Woman' Could Be Taking Us Back In Time With Her Story

Speaking with The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Arrow star Stephen Amell defended his castmate, Grant Gustin, and talked about how he believed he should be playing the Flash in the standalone movie that is expected out.

"Yeah. Of course. And I feel like it should be Grant [Gustin] doing the movie," Amell said.

He went on to say that Gustin's Flash and Miller's could be different characters entirely as the actors could be taking on different people rather than both being Barry Allen.

"The important thing to remember is just because Grant Gustin plays the part of Barry Allen doesn't mean Ezra Miller can't also play Barry Allen. There can be different interpretations of the character," Amell said.

"Anyone who is a fan of the comics knows the Flash character is one of the forces that leads to parallel universes. And who knows? They might find a fantastic actor to play Oliver Queen on the feature side who has a different take on the character. I'm certainly a departure from the typical Oliver Queen from the comic books. I just think that everybody needs to be patient with the whole thing."

Who knows if Amell himself will be invited to join the Justice League as the DC movies and television shows have been separated for the most part, but maybe he could be the first star to make the crossover.
