While production is getting started soon, it seems like the producers are also trying to narrow down who will be taking on the soundtrack for the next James Bond movie. Could a former artist get another crack at a song in this movie?
Entertainment Wise reported on Tuesday that Sam Smith looks to have passed Lana Del Rey as a possible singer to create the theme song for the next James Bond movie. But their other sources say that Adele may want to do another movie.
The site spoke with representatives of both Del Rey and Smith who both denied their involvement in the film, but it is no secret that Smith is interested in doing the movie as he has said that he would love to do a James Bond movie, but hasn't been contacted yet.
As for Adele, the artist went on to win multiple awards, including an Oscar, for her work on Skyfall and while it seemed like she may of moved on after that movie, according to sources, it seems like she may want to do another Bond song.
"Adele will still be the iconic songstress of Bond 24 and is writing a new song for it," the source added. It also said that Adele was keen to work with her new pal FKA twigs on the soundtrack.
It would seem like if Adele wanted to do the song, she could probably get it due to her past with the franchise and the fact that Skyfall went on to be a sensation outside of the film. But the producers could always look to grab the next, new voice and that could be Smith.
It also seems like Rihanna is out of the running after the actress showed interest in doing the song, but no word if that means she isn't in the movie also.
