The celebrity photo hacking scandal in August could negatively impact the iPhone 6 launch on Sunday.

Kaley Cuoco Reveals Many Leaked Photos Were 'Fake'

Google quickly became a player in the scandal conversation after stars like Jennifer Lawrence demanded their private photos be taken down, but now it looks like Apple will also be taking a hit this week.

On Wednesday The Wall Street Journal reported that the overall opinion of the technological giant has become more negative since the nude photos were first leaked online.

Jenny McCarthy Reveals Why Her Photos Were Hacked

While Apple has denied early claims that hackers obtained the photos by hacking the iCloud system, it has still had quite an impact on consumers. A study by Networked Insights revealed only 12 percent of online talk about Apple is about the new iPhone, while 20 percent is about the photo scandal.

If negativity toward Apple continues, it could impact stock value for the company, which has thrived over the last decade with its innovative and positive public image. The scandal could also damage upcoming iPhone sales, though it is too early to know exactly how much power the scandal will have when it comes to consumerism.

The sheer volume of stolen celebrity photos in August shocked the nation, exploiting stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Jessie J, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Jenny McCarthy. While many have spoken against the invasion of privacy, Lawrence insists that the crime should cause a change in the law when it comes to privacy and theft of digital materials.

The iPhone 6 is expected to make its debut Sunday, Nov. 9.
