The Olympic Games calls for the best of the best but somehow, Team Germany's Stephan Feck made a flop off of the diving board and into the swimming pool that is actually giving him the title of performing the "worst dive ever."

In the preliminary round for men's 3-meter springboard diving on Aug. 6, Feck finished in last place, at no. 29, for falling flat on his back in the water after losing grip of his left leg while trying to perform a forward 3 1/2 somersault pike, according to Yahoo sports. The dive was his second in the round and Yahoo officiated it as "the most embarrassing dive of the London Games."

Aside from a collage of photos from Feck's dive, the sports website pulled a quote from The Sydney Morning Herald, which described Monday's scene vividly, stating, "Instead of completing the maneuver and disappearing into the water with barely a ripple, he landed flat on the middle of his back. The resounding splat prompted a loud groan from the crowd, while each judge scored him zero. The 22-year-old from Leipzig emerged from the pool in obvious distress. He completed another dive but then withdrew, in too much pain to continue."

Fox News called it "the worst dive ever" in their headlines but did point out that it at least made Feck "forever Internet famous."

In the preliminary, Russia came in first with China following in second. To watch the dive for yourself, click here.
