The Mentalist's Marcus Pike is back, and probably none too happy that his girlfriend is no longer packing her bags for DC.

'The Mentalist' Season 7 Premiere Date Announced, Final Season Confirmed

When season 6 ended, Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney) promised Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) that she would talk to her old beau, smooth things over so that Jane and Lisbon could move on with their burgeoning romance. Unfortunately for Jane, this won't stop Pike from having his own chat with the Mentalist.

TV Line released a new photo from the premiere, and Pike and Jane seem to be talking it out at the FBI office (see photo here). Unsurprisingly, Pike looks a little put out by the whole situation.

Perhaps this confrontation will be one of the "hiccups" Baker has promised will pepper the Jisbon relationship through the final season.

"Obviously, we need to uphold the procedural nature of the show, but how do we do it with a dynamic that isn't necessarily smooth-sailing?" Baker told Philippine Daily Inquirer. "There's obviously going to be hiccups between them, when they've worked together and spent so much together and then try to carry on a relationship."
