There are a few select days each year devoted to U.S. service men and women, and several restaurants are looking to honor those who have kept their country safe with discounted and free meals this Veterans Day.

Several restaurants and eating establishments are offering big discounts to veterans who have served the United States, with cheap meals, special coupons and incentives and even some offers for completely comped meals.

Restaurants offering discounts in honor of Veterans Day include:

Applebee's: Vets and active duty military can receive a free entrée from a special menu all day Nov. 11 (beverage and gratuity not included). Meal options include: The American Standard All-in Burger, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Double Crunch Shrimp, 7 oz. House Sirloin, Chicken Tenders Platter, Fiesta Lime Chicken and Oriental Chicken Salad.

Bob Evans: Veterans and Active-Duty Personnel can receive free all-you-can-eat hotcakes all day long.

California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans can choose a free entrée Nov. 11 from the following options: Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Five Cheese And Fresh Tomato Pizza, Untraditional Cheese Pizza, Thai Crunch Salad, Chinese Chicken Salad, Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, Caesar Salad, Italian Chopped Salad, Garlic Cream Fettuccine with Chicken, Kung Pao Spaghetti with Chicken and Bolognese Spaghetti

Denny's: Veterans stopping in from 5 a.m.-noon on Veteran's Day will receive a free Make Your Own Grand Slam Breakfast

Famous Dave's: Former and active military personnel can receive a free One Meat Salute meal from 11:00-4:30 p.m.

Golden Corral: Military Appreciation Day will be on Monday, Nov. 17, serving from 5-9 p.m. Vets can get a free buffet meal and beverage.

Hooter's: Military Eat Free on Veteran's Day

IHOP: Veterans will receive free Red, White and Blue Pancakes until 7 p.m. Veteran's Day

McCormick & Schmick's: On Sunday, Nov. 9, veteran can enjoy a complimentary meal from a selection of entrees: Salmon Rigatoni, Buttermilk Fried Shrimp, Cedar Plank or Grilled Salmon, Blackened Chicken Fettuccine, Parmesan Crusted Chicken, Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Cashew Crusted Tilapia, Tender Beef Medallions, Romano Chicken Chopped Salad or a McCormick's Cheeseburger
