While a host of Justice League members have already been cast, a few that are getting their own movies are still without actors. Could one hero go a new direction after the failed first attempt?

How The Recent 'Suicide Squad' Rumors Affect Batman & 'Justice League'

While Ryan Reynolds portrayed Hal Jordan in the failed Green Lantern movie before, it seems like DC and Warner Bros. will look to go a new direction with the franchise as they prepare their new universe. Could that new direction be John Stewart as Green Lantern instead?

One name that instantly comes to mind when picking someone to play John Stewart is Common. The actor has a natural charisma and could play the role with both a stern hand and have the ability to make moments light as well.

Right now, Common isn't too tied down with many movies and his show, Hell on Wheels, wouldn't create too many problems since the proposed Green Lantern movie isn't coming until 2020.

Most likely the character would first appear in 2016's Justice League Part 1 before coming back for Part 2 and the standalone movie, which gives ample time for audiences to take in the new hero before watching him dive more into his origins in the solo film. There was also rumors of a team-up film with The Flash but it looks like that was scraped for solo film by both heroes.

While the bitter taste of Green Lantern is still in the mouths of most fans, it seems like DC is looking to ease the hero back into the superhero genre.
