While he has made a living being one of the go-to bad guys in Hollywood right now, could Christoph Waltz be playing a different role in Bond 24 than we initially anticipated?

This 'Django Unchained' & 'Horrible Bosses 2' Actor Is Facing James Bond Next

The news that Waltz would be joining the next James Bond movie was reported last week with The Daily Mail releasing the news that the actor would be coming aboard. Instantly, the internet assumed that he would be playing the villain in the film, but could he actually be helping Bond?

The report added that Waltz playing the villain may not be correct as a top source told The Daily Mail that his role could be something different. "Not so fast, just because he has played bad guys in other movies doesn't mean he's going to be the baddie here," the source said.

Some New Hints Surface As To What The Next 'James Bond' Movie Will Be Titled

While Waltz has made a name for himself playing villains, most notably in his Oscar-winning role in Inglorious Basterds, the actor could look for a change of pace role and be an ally to Bond.

The casting makes sense as it looks like a bulk of the film will be taking place in Austria, where Waltz was born, and the actor could actually be someone who helps Bond once he makes it to the country, which is rumored to be later in the film.

It could be that the actor is playing a sort of liaison in Austria who gets caught in the intrigue of whatever James Bond is getting in trouble with while in the country and becomes a quick ally for Daniel Craig moving forward.

Bond 24 is set to open in theaters on November 6, 2015.
