It appears that one of the Downton Abbey actors had to learn something new for the series that can be difficult for young men.

Something Will Be Taken Away From The Men On 'Downton Abbey'

On Monday, Xpose Entertainment posted the details from historical adviser Alastair Bruce who worked with 26-year-old actor Ed Speleers (Jimmy Kent). Bruce mentioned that he had to teach Speleers to walk with a more proper posture, which sounded like a pretty big challenge.

"He and I spent a lot of time working together," the adviser said. "I had to teach him to walk straight. You know, young men now walk like this [slouches across the room], whereas then they walked like this [demonstrates stiff walk with a straight back]."

'Downton Abbey' Actor Reveals When The Series Could Go Off The Air

"Trying to get people to do that is quite difficult," Bruce continued. "People have been shaped differently by their schooling, their education, their environment, their families."

Speleers is apparently not the only star of the series to have trouble. The adviser pointed out that a number of the actors had some difficulties with little moments that can be frustrating.

"I think what the actors probably find aggravating is, it's very tough delivering a performance, you've got the cameras on you, you've got to remember your lines," Bruce explained.

"When someone comes in and says, you need to hold your glass at that angle, you need to be more upright and try and turn like that," he added. "That can be aggravating because it's tough to deliver what you've got to do."

Downton Abbey Season 5 will premiere in the United States on Sunday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.
