Nicki Minaj's fourth single, Bed of Lies, off of her upcoming album, The Pinkprint, is incredibly emotional and features Skylar Grey who recently spoke all about the track.

There's Controversy Over Nicki Minaj's 'Only'

Grey spoke with Billboard last Tuesday all about Bed of Lies saying the song started being written almost a year ago. The singer said Minaj picked it up and wrote her verses on it then. Luckily, Minaj liked the demo and kept Grey on board.

Grey said, "I knew it was maybe gonna happen, but she released a lot of different singles first. So I didn't really know when she was gonna drop this song." She added Minaj's team called her a week before the MTV EMAs and asked her if she could go to Scotland and perform the song. "So yeah, it was the debut of this single featuring me," Grey concluded about performing the song live for the first time.

Grey talked about not being sure how Minaj got her hands on the song, but said she did and was able to complete it. "It's really great," the singer added since Minaj is so emotional in this song.

"She kind of poured her heart out on the verses. I personally think as a fan it's a nice contrast to her other singles on the record. You get to see another side of her," Grey said.

Grey added, "When I heard that she was taking the song I was surprised because it's not a typical kind of song for her. I was very excited when I heard what she did with it. She seemed to take it to a very personal place. And I love that, I love doing that with my songs and my collaborations, bringing out something that's a little more emotional and personal with the artist."
