The star is only getting larger for Felicity Jones as the actress gains notice for awards season with her performance in The Theory of Everything, but could Sony turn her into the next superhero within their universe?

Is Fixing The Spider-Man Franchise As Easy As Doing This One Thing?

Jones spoke with Comic Book Resources on Monday to talk about her role in the Stephen Hawking biopic, but also dished about her future with the Spider-Man franchise. The actress played Felicia Hardy in the last movie.

"I think it's a fantastic idea. It'd be great to have more female superheroes," she said on the prospects of Sony looking for a spin-off with Black Cat or another female character.

She also talked about the uncertainty around the franchise right now and whether that was something she was concerned with after working on the last film.

"You get used to it with filmmaking. You don't always know when projects are going to happen and you just get used to, as an actor, not being able to schedule huge amounts in advance," Jones said.

"You can't even say, can I go and book your holiday, because you never know what you'll be doing in three months' time. I've kind of gotten used to it."

There were rumors that Jones may be in line for the untitled female superhero feature that is set for 2017, but nothing is certain yet. Sony may want to wait and see how big the actress gets depending on how the Oscars and other awards shake out. If Jones comes out with multiple nominations, they may look to build on that with a superhero movie of her own.
