Things had certainly begun to heat up on Red Band Society, but it appears some of the show's romances may have hit major cool-down periods.

Is The Cast Of 'Red Band Society' Campaigning To Get The Show Back On The Air?

After going hot and heavy for a brief period of time, things have changed for Hunter (Daren Kagasoff) and Kara (Zoe Levin) as he prepares to go home while he awaits his new liver.

'Episode 10 is a big one for Hunter," Kagasoff says in a preview clip for the Dec. 3 episode, What I Did For Love. "He was actually getting releases from the hospital and on his way to the elevator when his liver pager comes off. He's filled with shock, excitement and now, he's a little scared too, because naturally he's got to face the music."

Love Triangles Continue To Surface At The Hospital

The music in that situation is Kara, who Levin says won't really change very much, and will use the barriers she tends to put up around herself in an effort to protect her broken heart.

"Oh my God, please don't go all Nicholas Sparks on me, this is so not a conversation that we need to have," Kara says to Hunter in the clip. "..Have a nice life Hunter Cole."

However, even Kara will eventually let her barriers down, after she and Leo (Charlie Rowe) escape the hospital for a bit.

"She feels vulnerable and scared that she's going to lose Hunter, so because of that, she leaves the hospital and takes Leo with her," Levin says in the clip.

However, that move could be damaging for both-as Leo is also dealing with his recent rejection from Emma (Ciara Bravo), who also left the hospital-and because of their mutual heartbreak, the two teens could cross the line.

Red Band Society airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
